In 2018, Julie Hinton & Diego Hellewell started The Big American Winter Holiday Musical Spectacular!, a concert of original holiday music. Often amusing, occasionally irreverent, and always heartfelt, they performed an annual concert in Los Angeles through 2023.
In 2020, they released an album, The Quarantine Album, to general acclaim. Both their mothers said they liked a song and Diego’s kids didn’t scream when he’d play tracks from it. They released several music videos that year as well and more have joined the YouTube channel (@bawhms) since then.
This year (2024), they aren’t planning a live concert but have instead been focusing their holiday energies on preparing a new album and two new music videos. Subscribe to their YouTube Channel or follow them on your favorite streaming platform to be apprised when the new media comes out!
Sheet music of the released tunes is available at Sheetmusicplus.com and Sheetmusicdirect.com – search for “bawhms” and it should pop up. This includes lead sheets, piano/vocal/guitar charts, and even a few choral scores arranged by Julie herself. There is also a compilation available for each album released.
